Mineral Sun Lotion Myrtle Medium Protection. 3.4 oz
Sunscreens’ effectiveness is dependent upon how thickly and frequently the sunscreen is applied to the sun-exposed skin.
The internationally accepted application thickness is about 2mg per square cm. Therefore, in order to achieve the stated sun protection, it’s recommended to apply EVERY 2 HOURS to EACH sun-exposed area of the skin the amount of lotion that would cover the back of your index and middle finger (two finger cover is about one flat teaspoon full).
There is no need for higher factors as long as you re-apply frequently, especially after swimming or heavy perspiration.
Be aware though that even if you use sunscreens sun exposure during peak UV hours (typically from midday to 4pm) should be avoided. Always wear appropriate sun protective clothing and use sunglasses. Children under 3 years of age should not be directly exposed to the sun.
